Travels: Portland, Maine
A few weekends ago Dylan and I took a weekend trip to explore Portland, Maine. It is a pretty easy drive from Boston and might be somewhere we'd consider living some day. We were up early on Saturday morning, got coffee and some of the famous potato donuts, and headed out to the East End park to eat them. The view was lovely but I was even more excited to spot a little community garden!
Can you imagine looking out over Casco Bay while pulling weeds or squashing beetles? might be nice!
The Casco Bay Community garden was built in 2015 and you can read more about the various garden sites in Portland here. I liked the shed and chalkboard for announcements.
The greens and herbs were still going strong but everything else was done for the season
below: this person is way more organized than me with printed labels!
We also checked out the farmers market, where I bought a mushroom growing kit (more about that soon). The Architectural Salvage store was really interesting too, and warmer than the windswept park.
I guess was too busy drinking local craft beer to take pictures of the rest of the trip, but I did enjoy the Knit Wit yarn shop. Now I just have to knit myself some sort of face mask in time for the single digit temps predicted this Friday.
