Summer is here

It is really getting hot - it was already 85 degrees when I got to the garden this morning.  The straw has helped to keep the moisture in the soil but it was time to give everything a good soaking.  I pulled and composted the broccoli, snow peas, some bolted lettuce, and cauliflower to make room for my next rounds of beans and limas.

The tomato plants have crested the top of my 5ft Florida Weave posts and the biggest fruit is on the Pink Honey.

The Hungarian Blue Breadseed Poppy pods are turning brown and we're collecting seeds. They have a lot of flavor. Soon Dylan will need to make us some poppyseed rolls.
