I've finished quilting the top made by my great grandmother Floy Ellie Miller Fannin. The quilting isn't perfect due to both the jackrabbit quality of my sewing machine pedal and the inexact piecing but I'm still pretty happy with the result. Better to have wobbly quilting and be enjoyed than to sit in the closet for another 50 years. Here are some close ups of some of the most interesting squares.
I love these - quilt block a little too small? just add some more fabric!
Below: The line of holes on the pink hibiscus fabric indicates an old machine seam and is likely evidence that many of the fabrics were cut from feed sacks or even salvaged from clothes made from feed sacks.
