Quick Tip for Tomatoes
Lots of people obsess about "proper" pruning and trellising methods (ok, me too), but here's something else you can do to improve your crop.
Prune away damaged fruit before it ripens!
Ripening a tomato requires a lot of energy from the plant and your soil. Tomatoes with blossom-end rot (see pic above), really bad cat-facing, or other physical damage are not going to heal and become edible or attractive. If you pick them off early, your plant will move on and make more. Be ruthless.
