I love fruitcake of all kinds, even the kind with bright green chunks of unidentified "fruit."  Granny (Dad's mom) used to make golden fruitcake with the colorful candied fruits and no booze.  I've made that recipe a few years but now I use Alton Brown's "Free-range fruitcake" recipe with dried fruits and alcohol.  Last year's holiday season was a bit of a disaster but this year I am making fruitcakes!
