Hardly the most aesthetically pleasing harvest photo I've taken, but I was tired from picking green beans. It is amazing how quickly the beans go from crisp and slender to tough and fibrous. Maybe I'll try chopping the big guys up and boiling them in vegetable soup. Last night the braised chard was a hit so I'll probably braise that big bag of kale too.
The butterflies are enjoying my salvia.
My cousin Leslie is preparing her fall garden in Texas. Apparently my Pa is helping out, though at age 91 most of it is probably supervisory. Perhaps this is where I get it from?
